We had an easy day on Wednesday. I alternate hard work days of riding with lighter days. His muscles are Not up to carrying my weight and I don’t want him sore, or he will learn how to resist. So after riding our first trots on Tuesday, my focus was on getting him comfortable walking all around the ranch, and going in the large arena. He also always gets turned out in the round pen for some independent time – so he can roll or move around. Most horses will run and buck when turned out, Corey never seems to want to waste the energy. I think that is one of the best things about a wild raised horse, they learn to think and not be so reactive.
